It's always nice to hear from other leather groups around the country. Well, nearly always. Here is a letter we received from the New England Leather Alliance (NELA), or rather, their attorneys, asking us ever so nicely if we wouldn't mind changing the name of our event, as they considered our "Central Florida Fetish Flea Market" confusingly similar to their trademarked "FETISH FAIRE FLEAMARKET" (trademark of NELA).
In the spirit of friendly leather comraderie, of course we have no problem knuckling under to legal threats (and we sure don't want to have to pay a lawyer). So we changed the name. I certainly hope no one has trademarked the words "fetish" or "leather". |
